TESLA AIMS TO FLOOD THE MARKET WITH ITS NEW MODEL 3

Almost 300,000 units have been the worldwide orders during the weekend presentation of the new Tesla Model 3, a brand of 100% electric cars. The prestigious brand already has 3 models, Model X, Model S, its most popular, and the new model, scheduled to arrive into the market in 2 years.

These cars have almost 7,000 batteries divided into 16 modules, which can be charged either in your own home with the Tesla batteries (they have an approximate cost of $3,000) or in Tesla’s free connection points at gas stations, shopping malls or other important points.

This is not the future, it’s the present. Tesla wants to launch 500,000 units of the new Model 3 and it aims to flood the market. Since the car has no engine, it has a large storage capacity with a trunk in front and one behind; it also has room for 5 people to travel comfortably.

The most surprising detail and probably one of the keys to the success of this new model is its price, $35,000, which is a huge difference from the old Models X ($120,000) and S ($70,000). The price of the new Model 3 is located in the most important market segment ($35,000 – $40,000) and this means that it will become the competition of models such as the Audi A4, Mercedes C- Class and the BMW 3 Series, among others.

But apart from its price, its comfort and its technology, we need to think about the future: what type of planet Earth are we going to leave our children? An electric car pollutes much less than a conventional petrol or diesel car and it’s about this environmental fact that nowadays we have the obligation to think about.

It’s a silent, quiet and nice car, but it goes from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds, so when you step on it, it really goes.
